Stereogram and Anaglyph were both developed for realizing stereograph with general flat photograph. The methods are based on the scheme of human’s 3D recognition.

Let describe mechanisms of such methods hereunder

Do you aware you are watching some object with 2 eyes? Each eye is recognizing each image and those images made by two eyes are not same. Now you know, the reason is because of different position of each eye. However, we always watch any object with 2 eyes and believe we recognize one image, not two images made by 2 eyes. Your brain is automatically composing one real 3D image with 2 images. Therefore, any picture taken by ordinary camera cannot be seen in 3D. Then, one of the answers to compose 3D images with photograph is Stereograph.

With two photographs taken in right eye’s position and left eye’s position, you will recognize 3D image in several schemes.

First of all, you take a photograph with your right eye. Then, move your iPhone about 10cm(4 inches)to the left horizontally and take a 2nd.photograph which is almost equal to a image of your left eye.

When you try to see stereogram, you need place 1st photograph to the right and 2nd photograph to the left. They call the scheme “Parallel viewing”. The other way, “Cross-eyed viewing” is required to place 1st photograph to the left and 2nd photograph to the right.

Please try to look at the left photograph with your left eye, and the right photograph with your right eye. If you can look at three images equally spaced, the center image can be recognized as 3D. The knack is trying to look at the backward such as wall or something and take the focus to these photographs. Otherwise, try to put some thin partition such as hard paper between two photographs. It might be easier for some.

It is exactly same as the method of stereogram. Just shoot 2 photographs in the same manner with iStereo3D! Then, you click the mark of’ Anaglyph view.

Viewing of stereogram is required special knack, in fact, someone can do it but someone not. However, everyone can look at Anaglyph with simple red-cyan glasses and enjoy 3D images. No exercise is required!
